The monastic site of Riasc, to the east of Ballyferriter, gives the visitor a real and powerful experience of an early Irish monastery of the 6th or 7th century. At the heart of Riasc stands the Riasc Stone, its elegance and spirit wonderfully captured by the craft of Brian de Staic.
This is a cross inscribed stone, a tall thing slab of local sandstone inscribed with encircled Maltese cross from which flow spiral designs. It is wonderfully elegant and captures something of the wildness of the landscape, as well as the sense of eternity of the Celtic Spirit.
Our handcrafted pendants can be engraved on the back with your name, in the original Ogham script. This unique and special piece comes with an 18 inch chain and a leaflet to explain the history of the Riasc Stone
