Returns & Repairs Policy / Guarantee

Return and Refund Policy:

Brian de Staic has an exclusive return/refund policy for orders made through our online store, briandestaic.com. A refund or exchange of goods can be done within 30 days of the date of purchase if accompanied by proof of purchase and if the product and box are in unused, perfect condition. In the interest of hygiene, we regret to inform you that pierced earrings can not be accepted for exchange in any circumstances.

Brian de Staic Jewellers exchange policy does not affect your statutory rights in any way.

In the unlikely event of a jewellery product arriving in a defective or damaged condition, you can return the item for refund or exchange within 30 days of receipt.

Once you return the item to Brian de Staic Jewellers, your refund or replacement product will be dispatched as soon as possible.  If a replacement is not immediately available from the stock, Brian de Staic Jewellers will make one available in the shortest possible time.

Items showing signs of wear, or those that have been engraved, altered, or resized by a jeweller other than Brian de Staic Jewellers cannot be accepted for return.

Returns made in packages that are improperly packaged or uninsured will be refused receipt.

PLEASE NOTE: Our 30 day return policy excludes the return of rings or any other custom sized, engraved or customized products that are in perfect condition. Custom and special order items are not accepted for return, refund or exchange.

To Return a Jewellery Item, Follow Our Three Step Process:

1.) Inform Brian de Staic Jewellers. Email us at  info@briandestaic.com and inform us of the imminent return of the product. In the event of a replacement not being immediately available, this will speed up the process.

2.) Package Your Return. Include all original packaging and collateral material. For security reasons, do not write Jewellers anywhere on the outside of the box. Please address the package to Brian de Staic, Green Street, Dingle, Co. Kerry, Ireland.

3.) Insurance recommendations:

We recommend shipping your item via FedEx or Registered Post. For items over €100 we would suggest using FedEx.

PLEASE NOTE: FedEx® and UPS® will not insure merchandise over $500

PLEASE NOTE: When describing the item please mark that you are returning it to the sender to avoid paying custom duties, which have already been paid

BRIAN DE STAIC JEWELLERS WILL REPLACE OR REFUND THE FULL ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE INCLUDING ORIGINAL SHIPPING COSTS, IF THE RETURN IS AS A RESULT OF A FAULTY OR DEFECTIVE PRODUCT.

Brian de Staic Jewellers offers an automatic Guarantee of twelve months from the date of purchase on all jewellery against defects in material and/or workmanship.  The twelve month Guarantee excludes all watches and giftware.  Such items are covered by the manufacturer’s guarantee or warranty.  Please retain the purchase, delivery or gift receipt in case you have a guarantee claim.   The receipt serves as proof of purchase and authenticity for products purchased and as evidence of entitlement to this guarantee.  The Guarantee covers jewellery purchased in store or via the website.

The cost of any repairs and maintenance carried out during the Guarantee period that are not the result of defects in material and/or workmanship must be covered by the customer.

Any defects in material and/or workmanship that become evident during the Guarantee validity period will be remedied by Brian de Staic Jewellers.  The form of remedy will be at the sole option of Brian de Staic Jewellers and will be limited to repair, replacement or refund.  If the item is no longer available, Brian de Staic Jewellers may, in its discretion, replace with like-kind or allow a refund equal to the selling price of the original item or component.

In order to claim a remedy under the Guarantee the goods must be returned for assessment and accompanied by the original purchase receipt.

If we determine that the damage is not caused by a manufacturing defect, then we will notify you and let you know if repair services are available at cost or otherwise.

Please note that slight irregularities and variations in craftsmanship or natural characteristics, or internal inclusions, visible or otherwise, in coloured gemstones are unique and individual to each item.  These characteristics are considered as part of the character of the item, and should not be considered a defect.

INSPECTION SERVICES ON FINE JEWELLERY AND RINGS

We recommend having your jewellery cleaned and inspected once a year, or if it undergoes any potential trauma.  Inspections may help prevent the loss, for example, loss of a stone, and extend the life of your jewellery.  Cleaning and inspection service is free of charge to Brian de Staic customers on their Brian de Staic diamond rings.  The customer only pays for shipping.  Repairs to your ring mounting can also be done at this time at cost.

The foregoing Manufacturer Guarantee and Complimentary Services are available only to the person (receipt required) who purchased the covered product from Brian de Staic Jewellery.

Maintenance, repair, sizing or other service performed by someone other than Brian de Staic Jewellery will void your Manufacturer Guarantee.

Fine jewellery is not impervious to normal wear, activities or trauma.  This is particularly true for rings since hands are regularly subjected to considerable abuse.  We do not provide warranties for damage due to normal wear, product loss, loss of stones or theft.  Damage or loss that results from failure to obtain repairs necessary to maintain the integrity of the product are also not covered.

White gold and some silver jewellery is rhodium plated to enhance its appearance.  This rhodium plating can wear off during normal wear and tear.  Accordingly any rhodium plating is excluded from the Guarantee.

Some examples of common jewellery issues that would not be considered manufacturing defects include:

  1. Discoloration due to exposure to chemicals, make-up, swimming pools, hot tubs or bathing.
  2. Prongs and precious metals, in general, wear over time and may require “building up” or restoration work as normal wear.
  3. Bent, caught or worn out prongs(s) allowing a stone to fall out or be lost due to normal wear or other damage.
  4. Lost stone or a stone has fallen out due to chipping or breaking caused by normal wear or other damage.

Brian de Staic Jewellers is NOT responsible for the loss or damage of your return.
