THE STORY :
Beautiful, rare & elegant simplicity: The round natural black gemstone used in this piece is 188 million years old. Every piece in our Carraig Dubh collection is a unique miniature work of art crafted in our studio on the shores of Dingle bay.

“An rud is annamh is iontach” - the rarest and most wonderful thing is an old Irish proverb that sums up what our latest collection, Carragh Dubh, is all about.
The creative journey from rough stone to a polished smooth gemstone is a highly skilled labour of love and patience using age-old local knowledge and traditional techniques. Its innovative and exciting and allows you to wear an ancient piece of Ireland.

We have named this piece Dúchas (heritage), a concept no one word can describe.  A feeling of belonging, good nature.

The story of the Celtic Trinity Knot began centuries ago in the pages of illuminated manuscripts of Irish monasteries. This decorative knot is now a recognized symbol in Irish culture and design with many different interpretations. Among the most popular meanings, Trinity Knot may represent: 'the past, the present and the future', 'abiding love' and 'mind, spirit and body'. It also represents eternity, continuity, no beginning no end. The number 3 is significant in ancient Celtic art, so the trinity knot and Celtic trikel spiral hold so many possible representations that are perfect for meaningful gifts.
